![]() I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.You knit me together in my mother’s womb. And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all those he has given me, but them up at the last day. For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away. But as I told you, you have seen me and still you do not believe. Whoever comes to me will never go hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty. Then Jesus declared, ‘I am the bread of life. ‘Sir,’ they said, ‘always give us this bread.’ For the bread of God is the bread that comes down from heaven and gives life to the world.’ Our ancestors ate the manna in the wilderness as it is written Jesus said to them, ‘Very truly I tell you, it is not Moses who has given you the bread from heaven, but it is my Father who gives you the true bread from heaven. So, they asked him, ‘What sign then will you give that we may see it and believe you? What will you do? “He gave them bread from heaven to eat." Jesus answered, ‘The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.’ For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.’Ģ8Then they asked him, ‘What must we do to do the works God requires?’ Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. Jesus answered, ‘Very truly I tell you, you are looking for me, not because you saw the signs, I performed but because you ate the loaves and had your fill. My reading today is from: John 6:25-40: When they found him on the other side of the lake, they asked him, ‘Rabbi, when did you get here?’ Yet no-one seized him, because his hour had not yet come. ‘If you knew me, you would know my Father also.’ He spoke these words while teaching in the temple courts near the place where the offerings were put. ‘You do not know me or my Father,’ Jesus replied. Then they asked him, ‘Where is your father?’ I am one who testifies for myself my other witness is the Father, who sent me.’ In your own Law it is written that the testimony of two witnesses is true. But if I do judge, my decisions are true, because I am not alone. You judge by human standards I pass judgment on no-one. But you have no idea where I come from or where I am going. Jesus answered, ‘Even if I testify on my own behalf, my testimony is valid, for I know where I came from and where I am going. The Pharisees challenged him, ‘Here you are, appearing as your own witness your testimony is not valid.’ Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness but will have the light of life.’ My reading today is from: John 8:12-20: When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, ‘I am the light of the world. You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit – fruit that will last – and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you. Instead, I have called you friends, for everything that I learned from my Father I have made known to you. I no longer call you servants, servants because does not know his master’s business. ![]() You are my friends if you do what I command. Greater love has no-one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. My command is this: love each other as I have loved you. I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and that your joy may be complete. 10If you keep my commands, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father’s commands and remain in his love. This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples.Īs the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit apart from me you can do nothing. ![]() Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. No branch can bear fruit by itself it must remain in the vine. You are already clean because of the word I have spoken to you. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful. ‘I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. My reading today is: John 15:1-17: The vine and the branches ![]()
